Addison Leigh Petersen

Addison decided to join our family a week earlier than planned, but I'm not complaining! I woke up on Wednesday morning about 6:30am and was having back pain. This was not unusual because my back was always hurting! As the morning hours went by the pain got a little more intense and I was pretty sure that I was in labor. I told Curtis at 9am that if my contractions were stronger and faster by 11am that I wanted to go to the hospital. By the time 11am came I was in a lot of pain. We walked Landon over to Tim and Wendi's house and went straight to the hospital. As they hooked me up to the monitors my contractions were every 4-5 minutes apart, I was 4cm dilated and 90% effaced. They monitored my contractions for 2 hours and I wasn't progressing so the doctor discharged me and told me that I was probably having false contractions, but if they didn't stop by the time I wanted to go to bed to come back to the hospital. I was so upset because I was in a lot of pain. The nurse suggested that Curtis and I go walk for a while and that if I were truly in labor the contractions would get stronger. We left the hospital and went to the mall to walk around. After an hour I felt like I couldn't even walk I was in so much pain, so I called the doctor's office and requested to see the doctor himself. After he examined me he gave us the "go-ahead" to have a baby! I was so relieved, and so was Curtis at this point. I got the epidural soon after being admitted and Addison Leigh Petersen was born at 11:29pm. She weighed 6lbs 7oz and was 17.5 in long. She has been such a good baby for us and we love her more and more everyday. She was a little jaundice when she was released from the hospital so the doctor ordered her to be under a bili light for a couple of days. (Hence, the mini tanning bed.) Landon was not sure what to think of his baby sister at first (as the picture clearly shows) but since then he has been wonderful with her. He loves to give her the pacifier and bottle. He doesn't call her by her name, but he calls her "my baby." Our little family is growing and Curtis and I couldn't be any happier! We are so grateful for 2 happy, healthy babies and the happiness they bring into our lives.

Big Helper

Landon is very "helpful" around the house with any chores that Curtis or I have. We decided to clean our carpets before the baby arrived and Landon thought it would have better cleaning power if he rode on top of it.

Happy Easter!!!!

We invited the Petersen and Oyler families to come to our house for Easter dinner and an egg hunt for the kids. We had a blast! The night before the Petersen cousins got together to decorate Easter eggs. Landon was very excited and made beautiful eggs! Thanks to everyone for coming and spending this special day with us!
