Landon's First School Project

I know I sound like a crazy mom when I say Landon did his first school project, but it's true! It was a project that took hours! We had fun doing it, but for preschool it was a massive project! The project was to recreate on poster board yourself (Landon) as life-like as possible. Also, the kid with the most creative won a prize. So, we decided we would take an outfit that Landon wears and make a new Landon. We took a picture of his face and blew it up and glued the entire thing to a poster board (clothes, hat, boots, cloth like arms). It turned out so stinking cute! When we finished this is what the conversation with Landon went like:
(Me) Look Landon it's Landon.
(Landon) "Dats Wandon?"
(Me) Yeah! Does it look like Landon?
(Landon) "Yup. Him half to go pee-pee?"
(Me) "No because he's not real."
Long pause.....
(Landon) "Him half go work Papa today."

In the end they all got prizes because "everyone's was so good." What they were trying to say in a nice way to everyone is that Landon's was the most awesome there ever was! Haha! So we're competitive? What's wrong with that? ;)

Happy 25th Birthday Ashton

September 13th I turned 25. I know, I'm getting old!!! ;) Curtis was actually out of town in Colorado on his elk hunt so mom helped the kids throw me a mini party with yummy birthday cake. We only had to sing Happy Birthday a million times for Landon and Addison to blow out the candles! The cake was awesome and my kids made me a sweet birthday card that is always special to me! I missed my honey, but he has plans to take me to dinner and movie (he doesn't know it yet, but he will....) It was an awesome birthday. Can't wait until the next one!

Another "War Wound"

Anyone who knows Landon knows that he is the most accident prone child there ever was! Seriously, it's a miracle a bone hasn't been broken or stitches needed (knock on wood....) This time he was throwing a soccer ball in the air and catching it. Addison decides she wants to play, too. He throws the ball into the air and then gets more focused on her catching the ball that he turns to run so it doesn't hit him in the face and he runs into the corner of the dresser. He hit it so hard that the pictures on the dresser knocked over onto the floor. His eye bubbled up and bled for a bit, and bruised all the way around his eye. I was very scared because at first it just bubbled up and didn't bruise, but we put ice on it and the swelling went down and the bruising came. Somehow Landon always plans these major "war wounds" at the wrong time. His last black eye he had his 36-month check up with Dr. Bailey and this time he had school pictures the next morning! I swear people probably think the child is abused! All I can say about Landon and his accidents is that he is made of steel and I am so very thankful for ALL of his guardian angels. They not only protect my little boy....they help me keep it together!

First Football Game

Landon, Addison, and Gracie went to their first high school football game Friday, September 23rd. It was scorching hot, crowded, and chaotic. However, we sat right in front of the cheerleaders so the kids were very entertained (which meant they were very good). We made it to half time then decided we had enough. :) Gracie kept repeating the cheers in the car on the way home and Landon just repeated whatever she would say.

P.S. The Suwannee mascot is the bulldog. On their shirts they had a paw print and bulldog head. Whenever Gracie put on her shirt she said, "Look Nana, it's a Blue's Clues."   :)

Here's Your Sign :)

Brooke (another Young Women's cousin...) has been asking me to come to her volleyball games and to make her a sign to show off her "awesome skills." So this is what I created. This sign was made from my heart! And  Brooke loved it! Good game Brooke!

Maggie (another Young Women's cousin...) cheers for the high school here in Live Oak. I thought, "Well since I made Brooke a sign I should make Maggie one, too."

Ice Cream Sculpting

We did ice cream sculpting for mutual one week and these are the masterpieces:
Lacee did the Book of Mormon.
 Ali did the golden plates.
Mannie sculpted Jesus. (It really did look like him!)
Maggie's was the Young Women's medallion.
Kayla did the 10 commandments.
Jessie did the Garden of Eden.
Maggie's mini verison of Lucifer ;)
Brooke did the Promise Land.
(Ali's Golden Plates.)
Alison scultped the Sandiego temple. It was beautiful!
Emi did the urim and thummim (CLEVER)!
Kassidy's Book of Mormon.

Happy Babies

We were riding around the farm one evening and I just wanted to capture their faces because they were so happy. These babies make me so happy!

All by myself!

One morning Landon woke up in a really good mood. We were having a great morning and I told him it was time to get ready for school. He said he wanted to do it himself. I had already laid his clothes out for him so I thought it would be no big deal to let him dress himself. FYI this is NOT what I picked out! I thought it was excentric...rain boots, church pants, two different socks, a stained play shirt, and hat that was too small. He was so proud of himself! I let him wear it until he brushed his teeth and then I broke the news that no one goes to school dressed like that....Oh, yeah the battle began!

Curtis shoots his first elk!

Curtis traveled to Colorado with my brother at the beginning of September to an elk farm where he hunted elk for the first time. He shot his first elk and was so proud of himself. When I received the picture text I called him.
(Me) "Congrats honey! Are you so excited! It's a nice one, huh?"
(Curtis)" Yeah. I think your brother thinks I'm weird."
(Me) "Why?"
(Curtis) "I can't stop smiling..... and we have to carry this elk down the mountain and it's tough, but I can't stop smiling."

He was excited for sure! Other than hunting pictures I only received these ones of him rowing a boat in a pond. We all know Curtis is one to do strange things without any explanation..... and that's why I love him!

Mannie's First Dance

So I recently was called to be the Young Women's 2nd Counselor here in Live Oak. I love it! I cannot tell you how rewarding it is for me to be their leader. They keep me going and laughing along the way. The only thing that is different here than when I was serving in Utah is that they are all pretty much kin to me! I have 10 girls in my Young Women's class and 6 are my cousins. So because they are family I can tend to be a little more "relaxed" and silly with them. It was Mannie's first dance since she recently turned 14. Mannie is the youngest in Michelle's family. We all joked that we were going to make a big deal out of her first slow dance. When she was asked we said in unison, "Awwwe." Then Maggie and Brooke said, "This is a Facebook moment." Congrats Mannie on your first dance :)

Phone Photos

I recently got a new phone and was able to import my pics from my sim card over to my new one. Thank goodness because I thought I was losing them.... Anyways these are from the last few months:
The faces this kid pulls kills me. I feed into his creative faces so much that we rarely get serious photos now (maybe he has just learned it from Curtis...) He just makes me laugh all the time!
(July 2011)

 My pretty Addison. (July 2011)

I decided to bring out the feminine side of Landon and Cooper.... It was good for laughs. ;)
(July 2011)

For anyone who knows me, I am all about Addison ALWAYS looking "girly." Her hair is officially long enough to be in a high pony tail and I am LOVING it! I know everyone always says their kids are the cutest, but my little girl is so stinkin' cute!
(June 2011)

My kids absolutely loved the mirrors in our apartment....a little too much! This is what they would do pretty much on a daily basis when I got them dressed! What can I say? They know they are cute! :)
(June 2011)
Coolest shopping cart ever.....Thank you Smith's! It's about time someone realized it's impossible to shop with kids. It even had sounds! (June 2011)
Addison just finished a bag of oreos... She is mostly dirty from just trying to eat the cream....
(June 2011)
I love this little boy and his cheese face! (May 2011)
Landon saw Addison riding this "Mater" toy in Toys-R-Us and said, "Wook mommy, it's a baby Mater. Dats so tilly." :) (May 2011)
My 2 kiddos on Father's Day 2011 (Could Landon honestly look any more like his dad? Seriously it's scary sometimes....)
(June 2011)

This is our morning ritual: who ever wakes up first makes sure to scream loud enough the other wakes up, then it's ,"I need 'shock-it' milk mommy" and "ma ba ba eez" (I like to type it as they do say it...), next Landon says, "you shake my shock it milk  then it's "eggo and baby wag wore" and "micka house." My day starts out pretty good! :)
(June2011)

This is my "Boo." She is getting so big, and still so CUTE! I love her!
(May 2011)
Gracie and Landon are only 3 months apart in age, but she is HUGE compared to him! They are so funny together. I love that they get to see each other all the time now! They keep us on our toes!
(August 2011)
This Addison trying to decide whether to eat her popcicle or drink Kool Aid from her sippy cup.... Obviously it's a tough decision! ;)
