Potty Training Landon....Ugh!

The only way I could get him to stay on the toilet was to turn on a movie from my room and he could watch TV while sitting. Hey, whatever works right?
I have decided to slowly start potty training Landon. He woke up one morning asking to use the potty and I thought, " This is it!" Sadly, there hasn't been much excitement since then. I try every time he wakes up and before he goes to bed to try to encourage him to and he does, but nothing beyond that. On the day he was using the potty he told me that he needed to poop. I was in the basement and I said, "Run to the toilet and get your pants off. Hurry! Hurry!" I heard the toilet seat go up and what sounded like him taking his pants and diaper off. When I got to the bathroom I found him sitting on the toilet and I smelled poop so I congratulated him and walked over to high-five him and I saw the poop right off to the side of the toilet. I still praised him for trying. At least it was on the tile and not the carpet! We will keep trying to potty train and aim for the toilet. Wish me luck and pray I keep my sanity through this!!!!

Addison At 5 Months

Addison is now 5 months old. She is quite the mover too! She rolls wherever her little body needs to go. I had placed her at the bottom of the stairs one morning and when I came back she had rolled all the way into the bathroom! She's quick! I love to watch her discover her hands and feet. She loves her feet; they're constantly in her mouth! Landon is always "helping" her. He really tries hard to be a good big brother to her. Sometimes she appreciates and not so much other times. Addison is now eating baby food and she is not a huge fan of it. She is very much in love with her "ba ba milk" and doesn't want to change it up. She is the happiest baby and she makes us smile every time we look at her!

Ohio Trip (September)

He was looking for a good deal...

My dad's pride and joy all grown and gone now! No I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about the deer! :) This man is from Canada and he invented a pressure washer some years ago. He had really cool hunting stories...
Everyone was wiped out after a day at the zoo.

Doesn't this look so comfy? They were so tired after a full day at the zoo and so were we!

It's amazing how much better kids will act when they know they can get ice cream!
Gracie: "Get in da wudder and you feel bedder. Nana I wanna go simmin."

(This is Landon's reaction to the alligators...)
And this is Gracie's reaction: "I'm gonna to tell my mama I wanna baby gator. I wanna hold 'em." She cracks me up!

Just chillaxin' in the wagon!
She's such a good sport! I love her!
Gracie: "Dat's not a bird."

Brian is a family friend and Landon just kept staring at him with this face. It was hilarious!
He is going to a style icon. I just know it! He dressed himself in this ensemble...
In this picture my mom asked Landon if he was poop and he bent over and told her to "wook."

For my birthday I took the kids to Ohio (Curtis at this time was going to Las Vegas every week.) It was a lot of fun as always. I love to take the kids and let them go wild! I think I saw Landon on average 3 hours a day (most of the time to change his bum and to get him a "nack"). Addison was glued to Nana the whole time, so it gave me a chance to relax and wind down (well at least the second week I did). Gracie came to visit for the first week we were there. She is quite an interesting little girl with lots of attitude. She did the craziest things that made us so mad, but we couldn't stop laughing at the same time.
Gracie's sayings while in Ohio:
(Landon crying) "What's wrong Mister? You mommy slap you face?"
(I told Gracie she was freaking me out.) " I freak you out. I freak Nana and Papa out."
(Grace called to sing Happy Birthday. Nana told her she loved it.) "Mama, she hated it."
(I asked Grace why she was acting like a baby turd.) "I not a baby turtle."
(Looking at the alligators at the zoo.) "Aww. I'm gonna tell my mama I wanna a baby gator."
(I put her in time out for biting Landon.) "I don't wanna time out. I just peed. In Nana's bed."

It was quite the adventure, but when she left Landon and Papa never left each other. They ate ice cream EVERY night and Landon never let him forget that it was within reach in the freezer. I think they went through a pack of moon pies everyday. Dad had the inventor of the pressure washer come hunt on the farm and kill one of his "monster" bucks. He said this in front of Landon and when dad brought the deer up to show us Landon said, "He Rrroarr!" Landon also on this trip has started to call Aunt Kendall "Dis". I'm not sure where he learned it or why, but one night while saying prayers he said, "Papa, Nana, Don-Don, Dis" and as he says it he stares at her....(not so funny written, but hilarious when it happened.) Landon thought it was cool that Nana put on glasses to read the paper, so he tried to copy her and he would do exactly what she would do. If she pulled the paper closer to read it so did he. He was such a little shadow this trip! As for the girls we got two fondue pots and created our own Melting Pot and it was so AWESOMELY DELICIOUS!!! I cannot believe how good it was and we had so much fun doing it. It will definitely have to be a ritual we do when we're together!

Landon + Addison = Best Friends

These two kids of mine keep me going.... Addison is quite the mama's girl and Landon is quite the daddy's boy. However during the day when daddy is away Landon is all about Addison. He wants her to do everything with him, just like him. On this particular day he said he wanted to watch a movie in his room and that he wanted baby to watch it, too. I responded, "Well she doesn't want to watch it. She's ready for a nap." He climbed in his bed and cleared a spot for her to lay next to him and watch the movie. He thought it was awesome that Addison was in his bed. I was a little nervous about leaving her to grab the camera, but when I came back he had her all tucked in telling her to say, "Cheese!" I love these kids! These are the moments that keep me going!!!!
