Baby #2 Due May 7, 2010

Curtis and I are expecting baby #2!!! I'm due on May 7, 2010.

Fun Times With Gracie (October 2009)

Landon was very interested in Gracie's hair bows. Nana took advantage of it an added as many as Landon would let her. It was funny because he was so serious about putting more on. When mom finished Gracie said, "Nana, what's that?" Pointing to Landon's head! Too funny!!!

Happy Halloween 2009

This year for Halloween Landon was a monkey, Curtis was the banana, Gracie was Raggedy Anne. I was so glad Curtis agreed to be the banana for Landon, because I really didn't want to!!! The babies had a lot of fun and enjoyed passing out candy to other trick-or-treaters more than going themselves. Amy Springer with Tilt Photography took their Halloween pictures. They turned out amazing!!!!

Gracie's First Haircut (Shh...Don't Tell Her Mama!!)

Nana and Gracie traveled here for Halloween this year. While she was here I talked Nana into taking her to get her first haircut. It needed it so bad!!!! Her mama doesn't know about it yet. I hope she doesn't notice and we can get away with it! :) (DeAnne if you see this....I saved a lock of hair and took lots of pictures and Gracie didn't cry at all! Love you!!!)

Playa del Carmen, Mexico (October 2009)

(L to R) Jen and Jeff Lee, Matt and Chanci Oyler, Wendi and Tim Oyler, Curtis and Ashton
Curtis singing "La Cooka Rocha" in the "Mr. Riu" contest. Hilarious and awful at the same time!
Don't know if you can see the fear on my face for what we were going to have to do next....
Yes, this is me on his back as he did 21 push ups. Stronger than I thought!!!!!

We decided to take a last minute trip to Mexico with some of our close friends. We went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico (about 30 minutes from Cancun). We had so much fun!!! We stayed at an all inclusive resort called the Riu Palace. Really nice hotel and beach resort! It was weird seeing topless women on the beach and men wearing Speedos, but other than that we fit right in! HAHA! Curtis competed in the Mr. Riu contest. It was seriously one the best moments of our married life. He was asked to sing, dance/pose sexy (which was just embarrassing for me), do push ups with me on his back, and form a conga line. He came in second because of the conga line but was a pretty good contender until the last competition. I was laughing so hard! Too bad we didn't get it on film!!!! The beach there was just absolutely amazing and warm. We ladies enjoyed floating for hours. It was so relaxing. Ready to go back again!

St. Augustine, FL (September 2009)

Gracie is ready to be potty trained now!!! DeAnne watch out becuase she doen't warn you she's taking off all of her clothes and going to be sitting on the toilet!!!

DeAnne came after school to be with Gracie on her first beach trip.

We took the babies to St. Augustine, Fl for a week at the beach. It was so much fun. Gracie and Landon were having the best time in the water. They would get so excited when the waves would roll over them. Gracie was especially brave and wanted to run into the waves....and it was hard to keep her close by your side because she was ready to go deeper every time. A few times she went under, but she didn't care a bit.

My First Apple Pie

I was so excited that my friend Stephanie was so domesticated!!! She showed us how to make the best apple pie!!! It was so delicious!

I'm a Bad Boy, but TOO Cute to Punish!!!

Landon knows when I've hit my stress limit. So when he is for sure he's about to be in big trouble he does this face.....How am I supposed to punish that!!!!!!

Summer 2009

I'm All Dry!!!!

Curtis had to work on the dryer this summer. While he had it unplugged and practically disassembled Landon thought he would take advantage of the situation and go for a spin! He thought he was so funny because he was on the inside of the dryer.

Summer Fun at Nana and Papa's (Ohio)

On Our Way to Nana and Papa's House

It's a continuing joke that Curtis wears Converse shoes when he flies. We call them his flying shoes. Nana made sure that Landon also had flying shoes. This was on the plane to Nana's house the last week of July 2009.

Swim Lessons

Wendi and I decided to sign the boys up for swim lessons at the local pool. We had no idea it was going to be so boring for us. The boys enjoyed the end of class when they got to jump in from the side of the pool. On the last day of class we talked the daddy's into going so we could film and photograph. It was fun that day!!!!

Sunday Drive Through Bridal Veil Falls

Fourth of July 2009

Curtis and I are not that fond of large crowds. We opted to stay home with Landon and watch fireworks in our backyard at Thanksgiving Point. It was actually a lot of fun. Curtis steamed snow crab legs. It was delicious and Landon liked them too!

Fun Times Boating at Utah Lake

We've gone boating with the Oyler family and friends this summer and it has been so much fun! Landon and Jax have had a blast on the water! So much fun that Wendi and I signed them up for beginner's swimming classes (pics to come). The boys did all kinds of water sports and we chilled on the boat with the babes and tanned.

Happy Father's Day in Idaho

For Father's Day this year I wanted to get all of the Petersen's together in Idaho. Talene (Curtis's sister) and her daughter, Justice, flew here from North Carolina, Jason (Curtis's brother) his wife, Emily, and their 2 kids, Alakea and Kyden, came from Eagle Mountain. We all met up at the Petersen residence in Shelley, Idaho. We had a lot of fun with the family together. It had been nearly 2 years since we had all been together. The only person missing was Jason (Talene's husband) who is deployed in Afghanistan. Also while we were there Curtis and I had the opportunity to attend Paisley Conder's blessing. It was beautiful!

Landon at 13 Months

Landon loves his bath. Curtis and I started adding bubbles to his bath and he can play for hours if you let him! He knows how to pour the cap into the pouring water to get the bubbles going, then he shakes his hands in the water to create as many as possible! It's so funny to watch him. He is still very active and independent; still not walking, but making progress! He has taken 5 "back-to-back" steps (I keep telling myself that it's better than none). I love every day with my little "mister." Landon is definitely a daddy's boy. I have to spell the word daddy out when I'm talking around him because he gets so excited! I do get jealous, but there will come a time when mommy will be his favorite; I know it!!!

Gracie and Landon May 2009

These two babies are so much fun when they get together. Gracie has become very independent. Landon has become very "busy." They each give us a run for a our money everyday. We always tease Gracie whenever she wakes up that a rat named "Fred" made a nest in her hair! Her hair has become quite curly and she couldn't be any cuter. Landon loved riding with his Papa. As soon as Papa walked in the door Landon knew he was going to leave with him. Sometimes Papa would have him all day! Landon loves to drive anything that has a steering wheel.

Sea World

For Landon's birthday, Nana and Papa Wainwright bought us and the Oyler family tickets to Sea World. It was amazing. The animals were so cute and talented. Nana Wainwright even cried because she thought they were "magical." It was hot, but well worth the trip! Thanks Nana and Papa!

Don and Kendall's Wedding

Don and Kendall were married on May 9, 2009. They had a beautiful wedding. It was a true fairytale. I'm so glad that Kendall is now part of our family. She was welcomed with open arms! Thanks for sharing your special day with us. We love you guys!

Florida May 2009

We traveled to Florida for Don and Kendall's wedding. The Oyler family decided they couldn't go a week without the Petersen family and came with us! We had a great time! I mostly helped do wedding things, but they got to fish and ride the ranger everywhere. A boy's dream come true!

Hogle Zoo For Landon's Birthday

We had Landon's birthday party on May 2nd. On his actual birthday (May 5th) we went to IHOP for breakfast and then to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. Landon and Jax really enjoyed it. Wendi and I were boiling in the heat and exhausting ourselves pushing their strollers up the trails of hills. At the end we rewarded ourselves with ice cream.....Of course! The boys were so tired when we left. The pictures say it all!

Landon 1st Birthday Party

We had Landon's birthday party on May 2, 2009. He was very sick on that day. His temperature was 103 and wasn't very happy when it came time for his party. He had a good party, though. Thanks to everyone who came and spent the special day with Landon!

Swing Swing Swing on a Summer Day!

Curtis decided to take Landon swinging in our back yard. The weather here has been perfect in our eyes! Landon loves to be outside...So that means we're outside a lot!

Baby#2 Coming In The Near Future.....

It's official... Curtis and I are trying for baby #2. However, because of insurance purposes we can't be expecting before July 1st. I just wanted to inform everyone. Curtis and I are very excited. He has been wanting another baby since Landon was 2 months old! I'm hoping we get a girl this time and can be done officially. Curtis has other plans, but I am very good at negotiating!

Pasly June Conder

While we were in Idaho we received a phone call from Jared Conder that his wife's water had broken in the early hours of April 10th. I'm not sure of the time but Pasly June was born later in the afternoon on April 10th. She is a beautiful baby and as you can see she has lots of hair. Congrats to Jared and Teresa!

Happy Easter

We traveled to Idaho to spend Easter with Curtis's family and the Hughes family. We had a great time with both families. Thanks to the Petersen's for allowing to stay the weekend and to the Hughes family for including us in your Easter activities!

11 Months Old

Best buds!!

Typical Landon facial expression.

Landon is now 11 months old! I can't believe in one month he will be a year old...Time has truly flown by too fast! He hasn't started walking yet on his own, but he can stand on his own for about 5-10 seconds. I know that walking is fast approaching us. He is still the highlight of my days and I treasure every moment I spend with him. He is quite "busy" now and my stress level seems to be set on "cruise control" at eye level. Still, I love him more everyday.

The Last Two Months In Review

I took Landon to see the Easter Bunny. I thought he'd be really scared like he was with Santa Claus, but he was just fine. He really liked his glasses. I don't think the Easter Bunny knew they were detachable!

Papa took Landon to Cabella's to see the animals. Landon loved the aquarium the most.

We had Landon's pics taken for his 1st birthday (a little early) and he got real messy with his birthday cake!

Uncle Don thought I should be a big boy and eat my own pork chop. I ate it all!

My first haircut by Destiny!

All dressed for church just like my daddy!

Ten Months Old!

Nana and Papa gave this car to Landon for Christmas and his daddy takes him for a ride all the time. (He knows when daddy takes him he has to hold on tight!)
Landon started crawling in the middle of February. He is now a speed demon!

Landon had woke up with two teeth when he turned 9 months. (I tried to get pics but it was quite hard!)

Santa Claus left this for Landon and he has just loved it so much!

Long Time No Hear Again!!!

OK I apologize for slacking again! This year so far has been so crazy for our family. While Curtis and I were away on the cruise we left Landon with my parents in Florida. Landon got very sick while we were away and had to go to the ER. (Not fun for Nana...) After our return home to Utah about two weeks later Landon caught RSV. He was very sick for about two weeks and lost almost 2 pounds. Curtis and I had many sleepless nights and to help Landon breath we had to go to the ER 3-4 times a day for breathing treatments (Deep suctions and nebulizer treatments) and oxygen. It was like having him in the NICU all over again. So he finally started feeling better and we did really good until Landon got a double ear infection a week later. As a mom I was feeling terrible. What could I possibly do to keep this little man from getting sick all the time?? I didn't understand what I was doing wrong... One more round of antibiotics and he was feeling better. I was happy and so was Landon. One day a few weeks later Landon was just crying constantly. I was very stressed because he had finished his antibiotics for his ears so I thought there's no way he is sick again. I held him and rocked him and sang to him and nothing was soothing him. I went over to my friend Wendi's house to see if Jax could cheer him up. She suggested I take his temperature. I felt awful... his temperature was at 103. So we made another appointment with the doctor. He tested negative for Strep throat, but had puss pockets coating his throat. Another round of antibiotics and he's better! So far we haven't had anything since then. Keep you're fingers crossed!

Happy 1st Birthday Gracie!!!!

Gracie turned 1 on January 21st. We celebrated her party on the 20th so Landon and I could be there. (For the cake, no doubt!) She was so funny eating her cake. My mom is a clean FREAK...Every time Gracie dropped some of her cake she would look at Nana and say, "Uh oh!" It was a special day for special girl! I call her my little princess in a big dress! Happy Birthday Gracie. We LOVE YOU!

I know what you're thinking again....He's crazy!

Add Image These three stooges were on the wrong side of the beach. They ignored the whistles of the life guard, but were eventually brought back to shore because they were in shark territory.

All we did in St. Maarten was shop, shop and shop!

Cruise- Day 3 (San Juan, Puerto Rico)

Every night we were left an animal shaped out of towels.
The waiters did a little song and dance for us....Our waiter "Elwin" was a bit bashful!!

It looks like I'm kissing this guy in the picture!

Beautiful beach of Old San Juan

When we met at breakfast Wendi and I were wearing the same thing. Great minds have great fashion!

The Jacksonville Zoo

Wide Load!!!

One Shoe......

Two Shoes......

On January 8th we (Me, Mom, DeAnne) took Landon and Gracie to the Jacksonville Zoo. The babes had a blast. Gracie donated her shoes to the rhinos. She's so generous! Landon and Gracie were able to feed the giraffes. They were so beautiful and massive up close. Landon thought it was the coolest thing when the giraffes tongue wrapped around the leafs and sucked in their mouths.

My First Tractor Ride With Uncle Don

Uncle Don became Landon's favorite while we were in Florida. He took Landon for his first ride on the tractor and before you knew it, Landon was trying to take him for a ride. It was so funny to watch Landon trying to move the gears and steering wheel. Uncle Don would start going slow enough that Landon could steer and he would squeal in excitement.

Does this hat look stupid? YES!!!

My dad wears this ugly hat ALL the time during the winter. We are constantly making fun of him. He responds, "It keeps my ears warm." Typical man to not think about any sort of fashion.... Mom and I were shopping one day and found the babies a hat just like his and we couldn't resist. They looked just as goofy as he did. He was so proud of them though. I'm not sure if he thought we were laughing with him, but we were laughing at him.....

Spaghetti Face

Landon is now tasting everything we eat. One night Nana made spaghetti and I fed some to Landon. He REALLY enjoyed it. (If you can't tell...) He had a plate all to himself and I just let him have a good time with it. It doesn't look like it, but he did actually eat some of it!

Take Me With You, Dad!

Curtis had to go back to Utah on December 30th. He wouldn't get to see Landon for 3½ weeks. As he was packing up his things to go back home Landon decided to try to get in his suitcase. I told Curtis he was missing him already. The first picture looks like Landon is saying, "Can I go with you Dad?"

Captain Petersen

The day after Christmas Papa flew us all to Bellfontaine, Ohio to spend a week there hunting. Papa is in the midst of training to be a pilot and he thought he'd see if Landon was interested in it, too. Obviously he was! He really enjoyed playing with the steering wheel. (Don't worry it wasn't working at the time...) Papa put the head phones on his head where he could hear the other pilots talking and Landon was puzzled as to where the voices were coming from. We made it there safe and sound under the direction of Captain Petersen!

Chrismas Day 2008

I regret not taking more pictures than these, but we wanted to get Christmas Day on film so this is all I have of Landon's first Christmas. He and Gracie really enjoyed tearing off the gift wrapping. Nana and Papa spoiled these babies so much for Christmas that Nana is having to make shipments each week to Landon to get them all back to his house! I think it was the best first Christmas a baby boy and girl could ask for!

Landon Loves Nana, Papa, and Gracie

At first when we arrived to Florida, Landon was exhausted and didn't want anyone to hold him or love on him. (It could have been because we took the red-eye flight...) Everyone thought that he was having stranger fright issues. It didn't take him long to go riding with Papa to feed the deer or for Nana to rock him to sleep. Gracie didn't care how he felt..... she "loved" him anyway!

Gracie's Getting Bigger and Bigger!

I love to put Landon's helmet on other babies to see their reaction. As you can see Gracie was just happy to be the center of attention! She was a good sport about it!

She so big she eats a hamburger like an adult! I was in shock when my sister ordered her a hamburger and Gracie ate it! What can she say? She's got to keep that figure some how!

Gracie and Nana have become best buds!

Gracie (in these pictures) was 11 months old. She is so much fun. Gracie is quite the challenging child.....She's very busy. We wouldn't have her any other way! When Landon and I arrived to Jacksonville she was ready to give us all kinds of love.
We traveled to Florida for the Christmas holiday. Landon and I came one day earlier than Curtis.

Merry Christmas with Jax!!!

On December 21, 2008 we celebrated Christmas a little early with the Oyler family. Landon and Jax liked their presents, but something about wrapping paper and ribbon was a little more exciting! Landon helped make Jax a Thomas the Train blanket and also got him a lighted tool bench with a hammer. Jax got Landon a basketball hoop for the bath tub. Landon has enjoyed it so much!

Our Little Family

We recently had our family pictures taken for Christmas cards and Landon's six month milestone. Amy Springer with Tilt Photography did an amazing job capturing us as we are! Landon is so cute in all of the pictures but these two pictures were my favorites! Thank you Amy for taking the best pictures, we will cherish these memories forever.

Christmas at Temple Square

On Sunday, December 14th, we took Landon to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square. I think everyone in the state of Utah had the same idea! It was packed full of families and their small children. It was awesome to see the many lights and how perfect each light was laid. I took a picture a tree that had lights on every limb and branch!!! Just imagine that all over Temple Square and you'll know what the rest looked like. It was freezing, but we had a great time. The look on Landon face when he saw the lights made it all worth our while!

Landon Meets Santa Claus

We took Landon to meet Santa Claus at the mall. At first we were a little discouraged because Santa Claus was too expensive. But not to worry we found the "real deal" Santa Claus at another mall. Landon was very skeptical at first, but when I walked away for the picture he let the vocal chords ring! Santa Claus was very understanding and wished him a very Merry Christmas and handed him back to me. (The picture is priceless to me! Landon totally has the "deer in the headlights" look.) We took some other pictures of Landon at our house in front of the Christmas tree before we went to meet Santa Claus. He's so precious!!!

Happy 7 Months Landon

On December 5th Landon turned 7 months. He weighed 17 lbs 3 oz! He is growing so fast! He is now sitting up on his own, holding his own bottle, gurgling his spit, continually rolling, and throwing a good tantrum every now and then! His head is now at the right position so we're just waiting on the soft spot in the back of the head to close up before the helmet can come off. (Every now and then we give him a break!) He still lights up for Daddy when he comes home from work, but always saves lots of kisses for mommy. We are so blessed to have Landon!

Landon Loves WalMart Too!

It is the highlight of our day when we get to leave the house to visit the local gathering place: WalMart. Landon loves it, too! He is now big enough to sit in the cart and gets very impatient waiting for me to disinfect the seat portion. As we walk up and down the isles he loves to shop for things and not tell me! I got up to the cashier and had almost $20 dollars of unknown items in my cart! It was so embarrassing, but funny at the same time! I have to watch him closely from now on!

The Best Gingerbread House Ever

Curtis and I decided for FHE we would make Landon a Gingerbread House. Let me be honest...It took us 3 hours. I shouldn't even say us, because I was so anal about it being perfect I did most of it. I let Curtis decorate the Gingerbread man. (Do see why I was so anal bout the house?) We had a fun though. I was very focused on my art, and Curtis was focused on eating my art... We are going to make this a yearly tradition. Next year I think I will buy one for me and one for Curtis and we will make it a contest!

Look at the Buns on That Babe!!!

Curtis and I had just given Landon a bath! I was singing with him, "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" when Curtis all of a sudden snapped a picture. I wasn't sure why he did, but after looking at the picture we both couldn't stop laughing! Curtis said, "Well we know he got something from you; a big butt!" Sad, but true! However, it looks good on him.....

The Annual Turtleneck Party

It's been a tradition of Curtis and Tim's friends to get together at Christmas for a "Turtleneck Party." This year was no exception. Wendi and I brought the babies along with us; they were so good. Curtis and Tim caught up on old times with old friends and the "White Elephant" gift exchange was hilarious! Some how Curtis and I ended up with one of the gifts we brought to the party! Merry Christmas everyone!

Jax Wants To Be Just Like Landon

On Sunday, November 30th, I wanted to get Jax's reaction when I put Landon's helmet on his head. The picture speaks for itself! He was puzzled and couldn't figure it out. We all had a big laugh over it. With or without a helmet Jax is adorable... He was more than willing to give it back to Landon!

Daddy & Molly Light Up the House for Christmas

Curtis put up our Christmas lights on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Molly decided she would help. (You can't really see her very well in the picture, but she's on the roof with Curtis!) He did a great job and Landon loves to look out the window at the lights. Thanks honey! Our house is the best looking one in our neighborhood!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We traveled to Shelley, Idaho to celebrate Thanksgiving with Curtis's family. We had such a good time and the food as excellent! It was a very short trip because I sold my car and had to be back the very next morning to do the paper work. Landon really enjoyed all the food, especially the rolls! (Doesn't he look so cute in his "First Thanksgiving" outfit?)

My Handsome Hubby

Curtis is always a "goof ball." Sometimes it gets on my nerves, but this time I couldn't help but laugh hysterically! His sense of humor is what first attracted me to him. Over time he's never lost that charm! (As you can see...)

Long Time No Hear!!!

Okay, okay, okay...... I've caught grief from everyone about my lack of posts. This last month was crazy in the Petersen household. My laptop crashed on me; leaving me no way to post anything. Curtis was sick one week. The week after him I came down with strep-throat. Did I mention that December 2ND was mine and Curtis's 2 year anniversary? I was sick, but he took good care of me. Landon was the next to get sick...it was inevitable! For 3 days I couldn't get him to eat, sleep, and don't even think about being cheerful. I finally took him to the doctor, but no cure for the common cold; just had to ride it through. (Not what a sick, tired mom and dad want to hear.) However, he is much better now! Not to worry his appetite is back and in full throttle. He melts my heart! I love you Landon! And to Curtis who has been such a good husband for 2 years and the best dad to Landon, I love you with all my heart! I'm excited for the many years to come!

Happy 6 Months Landon!

May 5, 2008 2:53am 5lbs 6oz 18½ inches

One Month

Two Months

Three Months

Four Months

Five Months

Six Months

Landon was six months old on Novemeber 5th. He is growing up so fast! I fall in love with him more everyday! He is definitely a Daddy's Boy! His daddy can do no wrong in his eyes. Curtis and I have changed so much because of our little man! He just melts our hearts. He was doing so good in physical therapy that the therapist told us last week that he had improved so much he doesn't need physical therapy anymore. He now weighs 16 lbs and 1.5 oz and is 24 ½ inches long. He loves to eat apple sauce and sweet potatoes. He is starting to sit up on his own and is rolling all around. He is such a blessing to Curtis and I. We couldn't have picked out a better baby.

We love you so much Landon!

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year Curtis was a black basketball player named "Boozer" and Tim was a chocolate man named "Kobe Bryant." Ok, I'll admit Curtis just looked like a criminal! He was supposed to be a chocolate man, but when he bought body paint, of course, he bought "black." It was hilarious! We got a lot of wierd looks and comments! Jax was a basketball and Landon was a caterpillar. Wendi and I were their moms! :)

A Fairy's Wonderland at the Disco!

Happy Halloween to everyone at work! This was such a blast for me. Even though I forgot my Little Red Riding Hood costume the "Disco Queen" was fun. Hilary I must say you were by far the best! Your mom made the best "Alice" costume ever! I just could not stop starring at you the whole day. You're a babe as a blondie! Kristin your costume was adorable, too. No one can pull of Tink like you do! Gary you looked more like Harry Potter without the mask! It still made me laugh. I can't wait until next year!

Meanie and Sweetie

Cutest caterpillar in the whole world!

Gracie was more interested in Landon's "other" helmet.....

Baby got back!

Landon did not like that Gracie was bathing him. (She had just put that wet wash cloth over his face to "wash" him.)

After we settled Landon down she was ready to bathe him. Such a big helper!

Landon and I went back to Florida on October 25th because tickets were so dang cheap! We had a blast. Both babies had grown so much in that one month time span. Gracie gets cuter every time I see her. She is quite the handful now, but I love her so much! We got their pictures taken together in their Halloween costumes and they were so precious! This trip was the first time that Gracie saw Landon's helmet. Let's just say she studied it a lot and tested the limits! She and Landon were so fun to watch play together. Landon is still kind of timid and Gracie is full of energy and very vocal. Nana had to watch them both in the car for 20 minutes while DeAnne and I went in the mall and when we came out I thought my mom was going to have a nervous break down. Both babies were screaming and mom couldn't do anything to console them. As soon as we were back they calmed right now. Mama's just have that magic touch!

Rest In Peace Old Red

On Wednesday, October 15, Curtis put "Old Red" out of her misery. He was in an accident that was caused by a blown tire, he lost control and crashed into the median railing. "Old Red" wasn't looking good. When I arrived on the scene I could tell Curtis's heart was broken. Thank goodness no other vehicles were involved and no one was seriously injured. Curtis said to the mechanic, "Do you think I'll be able to fix it?" The mechanic replied, "Son, it's been on riding borrowed time." It's been a hard blow to Curtis's ego to let go of his infamous "Old Red," but he's recovering well.

Landon Meets Grandma and Grandpa Petersen in Idaho

This weekend Curtis and I took Landon to Shelley, Idaho to see Grandma and Grandpa Petersen (both Curtis's parents and grandparents.) Landon was so good on this trip. When we visited the retirement community he really put on a show for everyone. He was laughing and talking and dancing......it was priceless. Grandpa Petersen kept repeating, "Why that's one handsome boy!" I have to admit I agree with him.....I worked hard on this kid!

A Day on the Farm

On October 9th, Wendi, Lindsay (Her sister), and I took our boys to see the farm animals at Thanksgiving Point. Minus the harsh, cold wind it was perfect! The animals were so cute. My favorite was the baby goat....looked just like a baby doll! It will be so much fun to take the boys there when they're old enough to run around like Brodyn did.

"Helmet Head"

On October 7th Landon received his first helmet. In previous post I mentioned Landon was born with a muscle condition that made it difficult for him to hold his head up. Since he has improved tremendously! Physical therapy twice a week, wear a helmet 23 hours a day for 3-5 months and we'll have him back to normal in no time!

5 Months Old

Sunday, October 5th, Landon was 5 months old! Can you believe how fast time has gone by!!! He is now eating #2 baby foods, drinking 6 ounces of milk every 3 hours, trying to sit up on his own, and rolling over on his own. He is getting so big and strong every day. We can't imagine our lives without his bright eyes and beautiful smile!

Bucky the Buck

Landon got his first ten point! Okay, so it was a hat but it was adorable.... I call him"Bucky" because at home, in Florida, Gracie rides around with Papa Wainwright all the time and she has a special talent- deer whisperer. She is always talking to her friend "Buddy" the buck. We must have good genes running through these babies....They sure know a good buck when they see one! (This was for you Papa Wainwright!) I took one picture of Landon alone because I wanted everyone to see how big he's getting! He will be 5 months old on Sunday.... Time is flying! AND he has started teething so maybe soon we will have a tooth!

Introducing the "Next Top Model"

Tuesday was my friend Anya's birthday. We went to a local mexican place to eat with her and her family. At the end of our dinner her son, Zach, started posing when I said I wanted to get a picture of everyone. It was so funny because his mom says he never wants his picture taken. Maybe it was because he was wearing a lucky hat. Zach loves hats and according to his mom would not take this one off! He's definitely a "stud muffin."

Kea and Kyden are back!

Kyden come over to play with Landon this week. He really liked the "Baby Einstein." We enjoyed our play time.

Lazy Sunday

After church is the best time to take a nap! Apparently everyone but Curtis was resting. (He was taking pictures...) I love sleeping next to Landon. He is also the best person to wake up next to because he is always so happy!

Eat, Sleep, and Be Merry

Landon is always so tired when he finishes eating. (As you can see...) This time I didn't even have a chance to get him cleaned up before he wanted to go to sleep. He is so funny. I laid him in his bed and as soon as I did he let out the biggest belch and never woke up!

I Miss My Mom

Today was a sad day for me. Nothing bad happened in my life.... I just thought about my family all day. My family is in Florida and I hardly ever see them. I just recently got to take Landon to Florida for the first time in September. I am also going back at the end of October! (Thanks to really cheap plane tickets!) To some this may seem like a lot, but in my mind it's not enough. My mom is my best friend. We talk on the phone almost everyday. I always put our phone calls on speaker so that Landon can hear and recognize her voice. But everyday when we talk it always breaks my heart to hear about everything that goes on "their side of the world." I miss out on everything it seems like....sometimes that is a good thing! I get sad because I want them to be able to know Landon like they do Gracie. I want them to come hang out at our house. I want them to watch Landon for me when I need "me time." (HAHA) In all honesty, I miss my mom. We are best friends and want to include each other in everything. This probably gets on my dad's and Curtis's nerves, but we try to ignore them! Ok, my saga is over...I do love my dad too, but I'm not into hunting so we don't talk as much. I love my parents and I am so grateful for them. I hope Landon thinks of me and Curtis the way I do my parents!

Kyden and Kea Come For A Visit

Alakea and Kyden are Curtis' brother's children. They are super sweet babies. Alakea is almost 3 and Kyden is 1½ years old. They came over to play with Landon today. Alakea is the best little "mama" there is. She was very helpful with Landon. She also knew exactly what she was doing! I let her feed Landon and help change his diaper. She was so excited to help.

Daddy's Litlle Big Boy

Today I had to work, so I instructed Curtis how to feed Landon his breakfast. I left out in my insturctions that he is not abe to sit in his highchair yet because he can't hold his head very well. I usually put him ion his Bumbo chair. But Daddy thought he was such a big boy today, I couldn't tell him otherwise :)

Landon Goes to Florida

For my birthday I went to Florida to see all of my family. It was very exciting! The weather wasn't great, but it was nice to just go and relax with everyone. While we were there Landon met Halleigh-Ray. She has gotten so big and even more beautiful! I love her and miss her so much! Gracie is my sister's daughter. She is my sister made over! Gracie is very busy and energetic! I lover her so much. She is such a pistol, but I wouldn't change a thing about her if I could. While I was there she learned how to (1) scream/squeal, (2) scratch and pull hair, (3) never go to sleep. :) The pictures of my dad with the babies are at 6am!!! He was notorious for coming in early in the morning and waking the babies up. His famous saying, "He/She was already awake." It's okay, they love their Papa. I hope we get to visit again soon.

I LOVE to eat!

I started feeding Landon baby food when he turned 4 months. He loved it. I wanted to share some of the good pictures we captured on his first feeding. He had sweet potatoes and rice cereal.

Just like my Papa

My family always makes fun of my dad for wearing this stupid hat in the winter. Last week I received a package from Nana Wainwright and in it was one of those dumb hats like my dads only in Landon's size. I put it on him for laughs, and I have to say it looks just as goofy on Landon!

Landon+Molly=Best Buds

Landon and Molly are always so happy together. I like to put Molly on our bed in the mornings to play with Landon. He gets so excited around her. She is such a good "big sister." I got a picture of Molly giving me Chinese eyes....so cute! Only SMART dogs can do that :)

**CAUTION**CONSTRUCTION ZONE**

(BEFORE)
For anyone who has not been told the latest news, my sister DeAnne and her daughter Gracie are moving in with us temporarily. We are so excited. Curtis and I decided that the "one-half person" shower was not going to be good for someone with a baby so we tore it out. We are now finishing a bathroom that is out of this world (at least to us!).... I would like to thank Dave Darger who did the AMAZING tile job and Matt Oyler for helping Curtis frame for the tub. We really appreciate your time and labor!

4 Months Old

Landon was four months old on September 5th. Oh my goodness he is growing up so fast! He got 5 shots at the doctor's visit. He weighed 13 lbs 1.5 oz and was 24½ inches long. We are now in the 23%!!! That's a big accomplishment! We did find out that Landon was born with torticollis and plagiocephaly. These are conditions with neck muscles and shaping of the cranial bones. Landon will soon be wearing a helmet to help shape his head back to normal and is attending physical therapy to help strengthen his neck muscles. Wish him luck, he will have to wear the helmet 23 hours a day for 3-5 months. **You can also wish the parent's good luck....the doctor has told us he will probably not be too happy when he gets the helmet. Simpathy accepted :)

Bumbo Anyone?

Landon is still struggling holding his head up by himself, but Wendi bought this little "Bumbo" chair for Jax and I put Landon in it and he was doing so good. I was sold on it! Landon has also come to love his Baby Einstein bouncer. He can't really touch the floor yet but he loves to watch the lights and listen to the music. These pictures were taken on August 5th. He's already 3 months old! He is getting so big too fast!

What Happens in Vegas......

I loved downtown Las Vegas. We ate the Cheesecake Factory and walked through Caesar's Palace and watched the most awsome cool water show at the Belagio. Curtis was amazed in Nike Town (and at Kobe Bryant) and the huge aquarium in Caesar's Palace. I would love to go back and see more. But I do have to warn you, they hand out flyers with naked girls on them!

Mommy, Daddy and Landon

After a day of swimming we were all exhausted. But there is always time to love on Landon. One big happy family!

Boys Will Be Boys!

Curtis and Tim tried to follow CJ's lead by climbing up the waterfall. CJ was able to do it in under 10 seconds. Curtis and Tim weren't even able to pull themselves up half way! By the way, my husband is a babe! No that's not a floating nerd, that's my hot, sexy baby's daddy!

Landon Goes Swimming!

This was the coolest pool I had ever seen! Landon and Jax loved swimming. They loved her so much that theyboth started to fall asleep in the pool. I inflated a float to let him nap on. Landon was so fun in the pool!

Best Buddies

Landon and Jax are best buddies. Everytime they're together they are happy. As you can see Jax is very healthy, Landon is slowly but surely catching up! This picture was taken when we arrived to Tim's sister's house. Everyone was exhausted, but these two slept most of the way there so they were ready to play.

On Our Way To Las Vegas

Curtis and I made a last minute decision to go to Las Vegas with our friends Tim and Wendi Oyler. We had a blast! This was "the boys" on the way. (They were really good!)

12 Weeks Old

On Monday, July 28th, Landon was 12 weeks old. I wanted to get some new pictures of him online so everyone can see how much he has grown. He is beginning to "talk" to us and laugh out loud. He is a very sweet baby and he loves to cuddle. He is definitely a "Mama's Boy," but that's how I like it! Curtis and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect baby boy!

Papa and His Babies

The Wainwright clan left on July 7th. Before they left Papa wanted to be with his "Sugie Babies." He handled them pretty well, but when it came to feeding time he gave them back with a smile! Gracie and Landon love their Papa and Papa loves them, too!

Daddy Blesses Landon

On July 6th Curtis blessed Landon into the church and did an amazing job! He was very nervous and very scared because it was his first time being in a baby's blessing. I was a very proud wife and mom! In the pictures are Curtis's parents (Grandpa David and Grandma Karen), brother Jason and his wife, Emily, and their 2 children (Alakea and Kyden), Curtis's twin "brothers" (Jared and Travis Conder), my parents (Nana and Papa Wainwright), my brother (Don, Jr.), my sister (DeAnne) and her daughter (Gracie), our best friends/neighbors (Tim and Wendi Oyler) and their baby (Jax). Not pictured, but so glad they came: Jimmy and Kimba Smith.

Scub-A-Dub-Dub Gracie's In Our Tub!

We decided to give Landon and Gracie a bath together on July 5th. Landon is not a big fan of the bath because he hates to be cold, but Gracie is all about her bath. She is all smiles and just as happy as she can be! Both of these babies are so cute and lovable!

Sister Michelle Lewis

We went to Temple Square on July 5th and ran into Sister Lewis. She was giving tours to prepare for her mission discussions. She did an excellent job and we are very proud of her! She is off to Omaha, Nebraska on Tuesday, July 8th!

Happy Fourth of July!

Nana, Papa, Don-Don, Doodle, and Gracie came out from Florida for the Fourth of July. The day didn't really go as planned, but we enjoyed everyone's company! We went the "Stadium of Fire" to watch fireworks. However, we weren't aware that the whole state of Utah had the same plans! It was super crowded and took us forever to get back home! We decided we will do our own fireworks from now on. As you can see Papa Wainwright was so enthused that he slept through the fireworks!

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub Landon's in the Tub!

Landon was so tiny when we brought him home from the hospital that I was too scared to give him a regular bath in the tub, so he got sponge baths. I decided that when he was 10lbs I would give him a tub bath. On July 2nd we filled the bath up with warm water and had everything ready to go......He didn't like it very much as you can see in these pictures. The only smile I got out of him was when I wrapped him up in a towel.

I Love To See The Temple

Landon and I took Nanny and Poppy Smith to temple square for the first time on Monday, June. We looked at all of the sites and read about all of the pioneer history. Poppy Smith is big on history! Landon was so good the whole day and we were able to get some good pictures with him. He mostly slept the whole day, but as you can see he was sleeping good!
